New Zealand's Quota Management System (QMS) is globally acclaimed and New Zealand is considered to have some of the most well-managed fisheries in the world.
Under the QMS, a yearly catch limit – the total allowable catch – is set for every fish stock from a particular area. By controlling the amount of fish taken from each stock, the QMS helps keep New Zealand fisheries sustainable.
All of Lee Fish's catch complies with the stringent regulations as set out in the Fisheries Act 1996 and the NZ Quota Management System.
